The International Association of Business Communicators' (IABC) Washington, D. C., chapter is proud to announce that Courtney Jill Sakai has been awarded its 2009 Pinnacle Award.

According to IABC Washington (http://www. iabcdc. org) President, Tomeka Rawlings, "The Pinnacle Award honors a single, senior-level communicator in our region who exemplifies the highest standards of professional excellence with a consistent record of achieving exceptional results in linking successful communications activities to his or her organization's or clients' goals, strategies and objectives.

"With 18 years of demonstrated success in designing and executing large-scale communication programs at the state, national and international levels, Sakai is particularly deserving of this award."

"For nearly two decades, I have worked in politics and public affairs to try to make meaningful contributions in areas such as diversity, healthcare and conservation. It is personally rewarding to know that effective communications can truly make a difference."
